habit shift: the monthly shop update

ACS_0162.JPG

For a long time, I've tried making as much jewelry as I possibly can: making jewelry to have available for stores, making jewelry to have available for events, making jewelry that I think would sell best on Etsy, making jewelry because my Lyft driver needs a last-minute birthday present for her partner, making jewelry for friends to shop at our next happy hour, making jewelry for my aunt's cousin twice removed who's flying in for the weekend.

and while I love designing versatile jewelry that anyone can wear, and am forever grateful that so many people are interested in my work, I realized earlier this year that I cannot physically and emotionally make enough jewelry at every price point to please everyone. I can't run an on-demand, reactive business and deliver the quality, craftsmanship and beauty that I'm aiming for or have the chance to integrate the new skills I've cultivated over the last year.

By shifting the majority of my work to stocking my website with fresh jewelry monthly, I'm able to offer everyone the same chance at shopping alllll my new pieces at once, for any occasion they choose AND allowing myself  work in cycles, against deadlines, which I'm learning actually I need in order to do my best, most creative work.

enter: the shop update.  a shop update is as simple as it sounds: a fresh, new collection of jewelry that will be available at fancyboheme.com for everyone to shop!

My first-ever shop update is happening on March 15th at 2pm, and it's just the beginning! I'll be creating a collection of one-of-a-kind pieces and adding them to my website monthly. Since this is brand new, and a departure from how I’ve done things in the past, here’s the skinny on how it all works:

  • what will be available? this first-ever shop update includes all of the things I’ve previewed over on Instagram and much, much more. My deep love affair with turquoise continues in a collection of simple silhouettes: layering necklaces, statement earrings, pops of bright color and for the first time ever: cuff bracelets!

  • what’s new about this work? in addition to 20 brand-new designs, these pieces are a collection of all of the things I've learned: from expertly firing and forming metal, to cutting + polishing my own stones and inlaying them into silver, my whole heart, hours and hours of practice and learned experiences went into each and every piece.

  • how do I to shop? for the first time ever, 100% of my work will be available online, which means no waiting for my next in-person event or hunting around for shops that carry my work. you can browse the selection, purchase online and enjoy FREE standard shipping on all pieces. if you have any questions about what you see, you can email me anytime at fancy@fancyboheme.com.

  • will I ever have a chance to shop in person? while the best selection of pieces will always be available on the website with each new update, I will still be doing a limited number of in-person events. This year, look for me at Renegade Craft Denver + Austin, and select art shows around Denver, which I’ll announce via email + social!

  • can I still request a custom piece from you? yes! I still love dreaming up special pieces with my clients. I will still be taking a limited number of custom requests each month. If you’ve got something in mind, you can submit a custom request here: https://www.fancyboheme.com/custom-jewelry-inquiry
